State Mandates for Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel & Biodiesel in Heating Oil and Transportation Diesel

The current heating oil market in the National Oilheat Research Alliance (NORA) states, predominantly consumed in the Northeast and Mid Atlantic, is under competitive pressure because of the comparative cleanliness and lower cost of natural gas. The new focus is on cleaning up the 7 billion gallon heating oil market in the 23 NORA states of MA, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, DC, MD, VA, NC, SC, KY, OH, IN, MI, WI, NV, ID, OR and WA. To become a more competitive product, the alliance is promoting the reduction of sulfur content and increasing the biodiesel content in heating oil.

ATTENTION RIN GENERATORS: On July 1, 2010, the RFS2 requirements will go into effect. RFS2 RINs may only be generated once a party’s registration has been submitted to and accepted by EPA, a process that can take several days or longer depending on the quality and completeness of the information submitted. We strongly recommend that parties that wish to generate RFS2 RINs on July 1 submit their registration materials immediately if they have not already done so.

AgriFuels LLC is pleased to announce that Chieftain Biofuels of Logan, Ohio is in the final stages of becoming certified as a BQ 9000 Producer and Marketer. Chieftain is submitting documentation for their official Desk Audit to the National Biodiesel Accreditation Commission (NBAC) in Jefferson City, MO. Once the desk audit is completed Chieftain Biofuels will be producing biodiesel under the status of "BQ 9000 certification pending "until their final certification audit later in 2010.
